Why is a Prairie Pocket perfect for my yard?
A Pocket Prairie embraces the native Tallgrass prairie ecosystem, without committing to changing your entire yard. A Pocket Prairie can be as small or large as you’d like it, square, round, oval, or kidney bean shaped! We can work with however much yard you are willing to transfer to prairie!
How long does a Pocket Prairie take to establish?
It really depends on what type of ground we are transforming to prairie. I work with a variety of native and non-native annual cover crops to help boost both soil health and lower chances of weed takeover. Slopes often take a little longer to get going, but I like to get some color and blooms within that first year, with better results coming in year two!
How much do Pocket Prairies cost?
Pocket Prairies are super affordable, and we can work within your budget, adjusting size and seed selection types to make it both affordable and sustainable! I always recommend doing monthly maintenance ontop of that, which starts at $50 per month.
